Installing it
- If Edge says "Halt-Setup.exe isn't commonly downloaded", click the three dots next to it, then Keep, then Show more, then Keep anyway. Browsers say this about new apps that few people have downloaded yet. It goes away as more people install Halt.
- Open Halt-Setup.exe from your downloads and follow the steps. Halt installs a small Windows service, which is what keeps your blocks in place.
- If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for new apps until enough people have installed them. Halt is code-signed, so you can check who published it under More info.
- Halt opens by itself. Add the sites and apps you want to block, pick a lock, and press Start. Your browsers pick up the block within seconds.
Already bought Halt Pro?
Open Halt, go to Settings, press I already bought it, and enter the email you paid with. We email you a 6-digit code, and Halt Pro switches on. It works on all your PCs, with no key to keep.
Can't unlock it?
Make sure you enter the same email you paid with, and check your spam folder for the code. To see the PCs using Halt Pro, or to get a refund, use My purchase. Still stuck? Write to support@haltmode.com and we'll sort it out.
